Stepping through the doors of Cantina Cerbero in Cupra Marittima feels like entering a story suspended between history and the scent of the sea. The calcareous hills descending towards the Adriatic are home to five wines bearing Dantesque names — each shaped by the Rivosecchi family with generational care.
During cellar visits, every guest has the chance to experience firsthand the journey from vine to glass. Our sommeliers guide a structured tasting of all five wines in the collection, each telling a different chapter of the Marche terroir.
We always begin with Dante, our flagship red. A blend of Montepulciano (70%) and Cannonau (30%), late harvest, aged 36 months in barrique. Deep purple, almost impenetrable — already promising depth. The nose reveals blackberry jam, pure vanilla, and balsam. On the palate it is suave, richly textured, with a long, enveloping finish. Decant at least one hour: Dante is the wine of great occasions.
100% Sangiovese, luminous ruby: Virgilio is the ideal companion for convivial evenings. The nose opens on blackberry, red rose, and white pepper, then moves into underbrush and sweet tobacco. On the palate a pleasant tannic weave, fresh and balanced, with the warm sapidity of the Adriatic coast. The wine that guides, that accompanies — just like its namesake through the Inferno.

Moving to the whites, Minosse is the most structured of the trio. Limestone soils, October harvest, oxygen-free vinification. The bouquet is a garden in bloom: magnolia, orange blossom, apricot, golden fig. The palate is dry, warm, and enveloping — freshness and salinity intertwined in lasting harmony. A contemplative white, rare in Marche, precious anywhere.
100% Passerina from sandy north-facing soils: Beatrice is lightness and iodine, hawthorn and exotic fruit. The wine of aperitifs, light moments, and sunsets over the sea. Fresh, aromatic, best drunk young. At just 13% vol., it pairs perfectly with Marche fish soup or fresh shellfish from the port of Cupra Marittima.
The tasting closes with Caronte, the Marche Pecorino. Golden with greenish highlights, aromas of Smith pear, chamomile, lime, and thyme. Fresh, savoury, persistent — 15% vol. that never feels heavy, supported by pronounced smoothness. The lime finish is unforgettable. Perfect with fried fish or quality sushi: Caronte ferries you towards excellence.
The guided tasting of our five wines is an integral part of every cellar visit. After a walk through the rows — where the air smells of sea salt and resin — and a tour of the barrel room, guests settle into our Tasting Lounge. Our sommeliers guide you through each glass, sharing the story of the land, the vintage, and the winemaking philosophy.
Whether you choose the Classic Tasting Tour, the Reserve Cellar Experience, or the Sunset Vineyard Walk, every visit ends around our wines. At Cantina Cerbero, hospitality is the sixth wine in the collection.
